What a year we have had so far!
We started the year with a beautiful sit down fundraising luncheon in February at the Rancho Santa Fe golf club. We hosted an author talk with NY Times author Kate Quinn. and Janie Chang discussing their book the Phoenix Crown, a mystery historical fiction set in San Francisco, Paris and Beijing in the early 1900s.Our thanks to our community partner of Warwicks Books.

The first weekend of May brought the semi-annual Half-Price Sale at the RSF Book Cellar. Bargain hunters searched the store for their favorite books, movies, and music at a fantastic discount. Our next Half-Price Sale will take place in October, so mark your calendars!!
The library is filled with fun programs for adults! We enjoyed Fairy Garden and Floral Design classes, Succulent Arrangement class, our monthly Writers Group, and Book Club, and so many are loving Chair Yoga every Tuesday and Thursday of every month!
In the Youth Department, we welcomed our new county librarians, Katherine Wallace and Rene Gehr! Katherine Wallace has been with the county for a year and half and transferred from the San Marcos Branch where she was the librarian for the preschoolers. Katherine previously worked in a museum and was a school teacher.
Rene Gehr has been with the County for 5 years and also transferred from the San Marcos branch, but has previously worked at the Poway, Lemon Grove, and Valley Center branch. She is the youth librarian for the school-aged kids as well as the teen service learner coordinator.
We look forward to all the fun programs for our tweens, toddlers, preschoolers, and babies they have planned!
The Summer Learning kick-Off Party was a huge success with over two hundred children attending. There is still time to sign up for Summer Learning; all ages are welcome! Drop by the RSF Library to get your start-up kit, and check our website for a schedule of programs and events.
As the summer progresses, please pardon our dust as we make repairs to the building.
Thanks to our wonderful Library Guild Members, we can provide a wide range of fun and exciting programs for both adults and youth and make needed repairs to our library building! We greatly appreciate your generosity!
We look forward to seeing you in the RSF Library!!
